Piny.be is a Git/Ikiwiki project hosting service using the freely available [Piny][1] management engine. Piny.be's service is intended to be easily replicable and easily installable using the [Piny][1] packages. [Piny][1] is flexible automated glue for existing POSIX infrastructure, including PAM authentication, SSH, git-daemon, standard security capabilities, Ikiwiki, and (if you want PAM web auth) Apache, hopefully to such an extent that it can fit into existing git or ikiwiki hosting solutions without too much issue. [Piny][1] is still stabilizing and you're probably best off tracking changes and building Debian packages directly from [git][2] until we get to the point where releases are worth maintaining. Piny.be itself is restricted to hosting publicly readable and non-commercial repositories. If you want to host private or commercial repositories, you are welcome to install the [Piny][1] management engine on your own server. At the moment, most repository management functions are only available over SSH. To create a shell account, ssh to newuser@piny.be. Current features are documented with the 'pinyhelp' command and an intended feature matrix is available [here][5]. Shell accounts are carefully restricted to Piny management functions; don't expect general purpose shell accounts. If you need help with or want improvements to either the hosting service or the engine, you can bug Joe Rayhawk over [IRC][3] or [email][4].
